Often termed as a drill driver, the percussion drill has evolved over the years to become a combination (Combi) tool. A selector sleeve on the main body of the tool allows you to select the mode type for different tasks. There are three mode types:
Drill Mode: This is used for normal drilling. Use this mode with a HSS drill bit or wood drill bit held in the chuck.
Driver Mode: This is used for driving and screwdriving tasks. Use this mode with a driver bit held in the chuck.
Hammer (or Percussion) Mode: This is used for drilling into masonry or walls. Use this mode with a masonry drill bit held in the chuck.
